Meet Our Editors
Editor – Kimberly Smith Ashley
Kimberly Smith Ashley is a writer, editor, and the sole proprietor of KM Smith Writes. She holds an MA in English and MEd in educational leadership. Currently, she is enrolled in the MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults program at the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Kimberly is an active member of SCBWI. She led Jax Youth Writers from 2012 to 2015 for the Florida Writers Association’s Youth Writers Program. She is interested in writing projects of all categories and genres, including business, self-help, spiritual, adult and children’s fiction, and memoir. Her editorial strengths include developmental and structural editing, line editing, project management, and book coaching.
Currently, Kimberly is working on manuscripts related to her MFA program, including a young adult contemporary novel, and planting seeds for an editorial cooperative in the near future.
Editor – Nancy Stone
Nancy Stone is writer, editor, teacher, and librarian. Her strengths include copy, developmental, and line editing, as well as book coaching and character development. Nancy has served as a copy writer and research librarian at both public and university libraries, as well as a writing tutor and homeschool co-op leader. An active member of SCBWI and the Editorial Freelancers Association, she holds a BA in English from the University of Connecticut and an MLS with a concentration in children’s literature from Simmons College.
Currently at work on a young adult novel, Nancy’s writing has appeared in The Mississippi Review Online, Folio Weekly, and other publications. She is represented by Ammi-Joan Paquette of Erin Murphy Literary.
Editor – Laurie Dennison
Laurie Dennison is a writer, editor, and website coordinator. She holds a BA in English and an MEd in English education and educational technology from the University of Florida. An active member of SCBWI, she was the Jacksonville critique group leader for three years. Her editorial strengths are developmental and line editing, character development, and proofreading. She also has extensive experience establishing, growing, and maintaining websites for individuals and small businesses.
Currently, Laurie is working on her young adult writing projects. She is represented by Danielle Burby at Nelson Literary Agency.
